Large paper map of the United States printed in color, sourrounded on all sides by color scenes of farming and industry: five individual color scenes along the top edge of map with men and horses pulling farm equipment; large color illustration flanks PL side of map of a bearded man wearing a hat, boots and overalls reading the Champion newspaper, with "The User" written in black ink under the figure; and large color illustration flanks PR side of map of a man wearing a white workman's hat, overalls, doing iron work on rools, with "The Builder" written in black ink under . Five individual color scenes along the bottom edge of map with men and horses pulling farm equipment. Within the black-outlined border of map at PLL corner reads: "LATEST MAP / OF THE / UNITED STATES / OF AMERICA / Showing Location of the / CHAMPION / HARVESTING MACHINE WORKS / SRINGFIELD, OHIO. U.S.A. / THE4 LARGEST REAPER FACTORIES ON EARTH. / WHITELY, FASSLER & KELLY. / PROPR'S / 1886". Compass scale prinited in black within the Atlantic Ocean area of the map. Printed in large red letter on top of the state of Ohio: "SPRINGFIELD / * / OHIO". Paper nailed to strips of cloth (linen?) and long wooden rods painted black at top and bottom. String attached along top edge of wooden rod tied to hook eyes at each corner. This item was previous known by old inventory number 1976.56.
