Black and white photomechanical postcard. Photograph of the a group of people at the steamboat landing at Sakonnet Point in Little Compton RI. These buildings at Sakonnet Point were swept away in the 1938 hurricane. Steamship service between Providence R.I. and Sakonnet Point in Little Compton R.I. began about 1886 and lasted until about 1919. For more information about the Sakonnet Steamship line and Sakonnet Point the book "Traveling Around Aquidnect Island 1890-1930 (How We Got Around)" by James E. Garman, published by Hamilton Printing, Portsmouth R.I. in 1996 contains a chapter "The Sakonnet Steamship Line" on page 59. 1909 postmark.

Black and white photographic postcard. Photograph of a 2 story Victorian house with mansard roof and porches. This house belonged to Pardon Brownell. This house was located the lot on the North Side of the Brownell Library and was moved 200 feet to the east and is the rectory for the Catholic Church. Barn in the background was moved to Willow Avenue.

Black and white photographic postcard. Photograph of Florence G Wilbour house at 560 West Main Road. This house also know as "Londonderry" or the Cornelia C. Abbot house. A shingled 2 story house with front entrance, stonewall and gate. This house was remodeled and enlarged in the 20th Century. For more detailed information about this house see "Historic and Architectural Resources of Little Compton" published by the Rhode Island Historical Preservation Commission in 1990 pg 82.

Photograph of the Sakonnet Hotel ( also at other times named Lyman House, Lyman Hotel, Lyman's Ye Sakonnet Inn, The Lyman, Ye Sakonnet Inn, Sakonnet Inn at times) at Sakonnet Point in Little Compton RI. Three story hotel with a central tower. One level porch on the front and sides. This building was located on the West Side of Rhode Island Avenue at Sakonnet Point. It was demolished in the 1930s. 1916 Postmark.
