Exhibit label reads: "Town Election Candidates, 1941/The 1941 Town Election included three men of Portuguese descent." Little Compton Portuguese immigrated from the Azores starting in the late 19th century.

Three small black and white illustrations (etchings?) inset at LPR corner of map of interior scenes of Burlington route train with people in Victorian dress lounging, in train cafe, and seated in passenger seats. Large, rolled paper map of Quoquaset Map; cream colored paper affixed to and backed with cream colored linen, nailed to unpainted wooden rods at top and bottom, with strip of fabric along wood to cover edges of paper. Linen backing and wood rods more recent than map. Map drawn in black ink, with slight washes of subtle varying tones of brown to show land mass versus water versus elevated areas. Water ways and land area names written in black in throughout. Title in large stylized calligraphy at UPL corner of map reads: "TOPOGRAPHIC AND GEODEDIC / CHART OF / QUOQUASET MARSH", followed underneath with a stylized scale in feet and arrows. Below title and scale is a note that reads: "From a geodedic survey made between January and March / 1888, by Joseph D. Alden and Henry I. Richmond Jr., and a topograph- / ic survey, by J.D. Alden. The astronimic and magnetic ob- / servations are from the United States Coast Survey of July / 1887." A text explanation of the scale and the elevation written in black ink below title and scale. At PLR corner reads: "EXPLANATION OF COLORS" with several diagrams to correspond with areas on the map. Note written at bottom center of map reads: "DRAWN BY / JOSEPH DAUCHY ALDEN. / 1888".
