Writing in blue pencil along PL side: "REDUCE TO / 2 3/4" with arrows and lines drawn to show sizing. Paper is glued to another piece of paper, with yellow paper taped to back that reads in black ink: "PROMOTION / PHOTOPRINT / SIZE / NO. Portrait of John Borden Wilbor
Portrait, oil on canvas of John Borden Wilbor (1849-1850) as a child, seated. Written on inside of stretcher: "Son of William Henry and Esther Gray Wilbor". Written in pencil on back of frame: "Framed Aug. 1933". A family story told about this painting is that it was painted after the boy died and that the artist made the boy in the portrait look older than a child that died at one year old.
