WHOLE CLOTH QUILT. Hand stitched, 7 stitches per inch, same designs, bobbin lace border. chocolate brown silk front & cotton back. The silk in the quilt was formerly the wedding dress of Content Norton of Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard. She married John Thatcher of Barnstable, MA on March 28, 1734. She was the Great-Grandmother of Louisa L. Kelly. Surveyed by conservator, 2002 NEH Grant.
